2016 was a challenging year for a lot of us, myself included. My main hurdle this year was recovering from kidney surgery in the early part of the year. But I don’t want to dwell on the negatives! Kickstarting my return to work was the first Furtography workshop which was an absolute joy and I look forward to teaching more in 2017. Then my life changing experience at Barkelona, a workshop where I learned from 3 of the most amazing pet photographers in the world. My studio opening at KURI which I launched with the Winter Wonderland Fundraising sessions. I also joined the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography and had some great success at the annual IRIS awards. Finishing the year with my biggest Santa Paws season ever, taking in Auckland, Wellington, Queenstown and Christchurch and raising $765 for local charities. I’ve met so many amazing people and their pets this year and it’s always a privilege. But perhaps the most exciting of all is that I finally took Furtography full time, I’m no longer a slave to the wage, but now I face the many challenges of being self employed in 2017, bring it on!
None of this would have been possible without the support I have from you, so thank you. I will leave you with some of my absolute favourite images from the sessions I’ve worked on this year.
