A few weeks ago I met up with Cairo and Chilli for their Furtography session. As with most of my winter sessions, it was a cold, frosty morning, but the light was beautiful and there was a little mist over the field where we started out.
I first met Cairo, and Janelle, his owner, a few years ago. He’s an Urban Search and Rescue dog (USAR) and worked in the city in the aftermath of the Christchurch earthquake. His story features in my book, Quake Dogs. Chilli is the latest addition to the family.
Cairo and Chilli have so much energy and drive, it is really quite remarkable, so naturally we had to get some action shots before heading down to the river for a swim.

Awesome to see Chilli and Cairo still vigorously enjoying life. Chilli reminds me so much of her Mum Echo and is showing more signs of her Dad Dru too. What amazing action shots, I’d have these photos all around my walls at home if I could, they remind one that life is to be lived to the fullest. Great stuff, well done Furtographer.
