A couple of months ago, I got the amazing opportunity to work on one of my dream shoots, in and around some of Sydney’s most iconic scenery, including the Sydney Opera House. It was the gorgeous squishy face of Dallas who would make my dreams a reality.
I’ve photographed the Sydney Opera House many times too. But nowadays as I sift through many thousands of old landscape images I took at so many amazing locations, I ALWAYS think “that would look better with a dog in it!” I’m slowly making the images in my head a reality and I was so happy to get Dallas to be my model for the morning. Ainslie, Dallas’s mum, was so patient, indulging me in my suggestions of meeting at 6:30am at the opera house and then not batting an eyelid when I suggested we walked the 20-odd minutes around the quay to The Rocks, then all the way back and around the botanic gardens to Mrs Macquaries Point, another lengthy walk. All the time I was conscious that Dallas’s little legs might be getting a bit worn out. But Dallas handled it like a trooper. Oh did I mention she had the most fabulous wardrobe too!

We finished up over the harbour bridge at Luna Park where we also met Tilly, whose photos I can’t wait to share in my next post.
Thank you so much Ainslie for your patience and Dallas for your first class modeling skills!
